Super XYX from eastasiasoft and Team Grybanser Fox is an old-school-style vertical shoot ’em up on PlayStation 5. Your mission will have you fighting against the forces of the evil The Black Serpent. This classic-flavored pixel shmup will have you flying through 6 stages of increasing difficulty that will have you facing off against huge bosses that you’ll have to destroy in phases. Do you have what it takes to beat this arcade experience?

 

The first step will be to choose between the available characters: Helltiger and Green Knight. Each one will have a different attack pattern, as well as a specific bomb to use. Helltiger will have a more focused and powerful regular attack that can deal a ton of damage in a short period of time. As for Green Knight, it will have a spreadshot that can cover a larger area with every burst. Collect power-ups to boost their attacks and obtain bits that will also attack!

You’ll be piloting your ship with the left analog stick or the D-Pad as you shoot at everything with the X button. You can deploy a mighty bomb by pressing the Triangle button. You’ll be able to slow down your ship by pressing the L2 button, which can be useful when navigating through some of the bullet patterns. You can change the bit configuration by pressing the R2 button, which will let you change the orientation of where the bits shoot.

This game features a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. And since this is a Cross-Buy release, you can download the PS5 and PS5 versions of the game and work on their separate trophy lists. The list will be split into 4 Bronze trophies, 8 Silver trophies, and 8 Gold trophies. The objectives to complete include scoring 500,000 and 1,500,000 points, getting the number 1 spot in the high score table, fighting all bosses, unlocking the three additional pilots, getting 777, 5,000, and 9,999 medals, getting fully powered, dying 99 times, clearing any stage without dying, and clearing the game with no game overs, to name some examples.
