Sequel Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 from Ultimate Games, Games Incubator, and Hypnotic Ants is ready to take you back to the scrapyard on Nintendo Switch. Your task is simple yet very complicated: to go to the biggest ship graveyard in the world, dismantle huge ship parts, and collect tons of precious steel to make as much money as possible as fast as you can. The game takes what Ship Graveyard Simulator did and expands on it by bringing us new and bigger ships, as well as new gameplay mechanics and features.

Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 Review - 1

And no, you don’t need to have played Ship Graveyard Simulator to understand what this sequel brings to the table. Just know that there are tons of steel, copper, and aluminum parts up for grabs, and that you’ll be spending dozens of hours playing this one as you get better at salvaging all of the ship pieces. No part is too small for your business, since they all quickly add up as you go. The ships are huge, so you won’t be able to just grab the pieces you salvage and carry them with you. You’re going to need special equipment for it, such as a large crate and a huge container. Remove pieces, use demolition equipment to break some up, and make the most of the control panels, steel plates, engines, and more that you can find at the ship graveyard. Ajescent got a chance to review prequel Ship Graveyard Simulator on PlayStation 4 back in 2023, and it’s now time to check out what part two has to offer on Nintendo’s console.

As you can tell from the trailer and screens in this Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 review, the game is played from a first-person perspective, so you’ll be taking control of your character by using the left analog stick as you use the right analog stick to move the camera around as needed. Sprint by pressing in on the left analog stick. Jump by pressing the Y button. Interact by using the A button. Open up your inventory with the L button so that you can check the items that you can use during your time with the game. Press the ZR button to use an item. Use the D-Pad to review contracts, use the sanner, open up the Wiki, or use your flashlight by pressing up, right, down, or left, respectively.

Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 Review - 2

You’ll get to learn the basics during the game’s tutorial, which I suggest you don’t skip. You’ll be asked to use the computer to purchase your first old ship to salvage. The good news is that it’s a much smaller ship than what you’ll be working on later. On top of that, it will be available to you at no cost, so you’ll be able to get your new business up and running in no time. The game will then load the ship and all of its parts, including those that you can and can’t destroy. Once that’s done, you’ll be ready to begin to scrap it for pieces.

Some elements, such as furniture, fixtures, or smaller stuff, will be available for you to pick up by pressing the ZR button without any issues. You can then throw anything you’re currently carrying. This is useful for putting stuff on the back of your truck at the start of the game. To continue with the tutorial, you’ll have to throw 20kg worth of items into the back of your truck. After that’s been taken care of, you’ll have to start using different tools to hit connectors to break apart some segments. Open up your inventory, select the hammer, and swing away at connectors to take off parts. Once you’ve sent 80kg of parts to your truck, you’ll be good to go. Don’t forget that your character has a limit on how much he can carry, so throw as much weight as possible on your truck as needed.

Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 Nintendo Switch Review - 4

The game was previously made available last year on PlayStation 5, and, as expected, some concessions had to be made in order for the game to be squeezed into a Nintendo Switch release. The overall resolution has been lowered, and the textures are also of a lower resolution to keep the framerate as playable as possible. Oh, and there’s plenty of pop in as you move through each area, especially when you’re in a vehicle. Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 is out on Nintendo Switch with a $29.99 price tag. This version of the game also includes the Warships DLC, with the following ships:

-Chevy
-Fuso
-Wicher
