1 CatLine from eastasiasof and Nerd Games brings us a puzzle platformer on PlayStation 5. Learn more in our 1 CatLine review!

1 CatLine from eastasiasof and Nerd Games brings us a puzzle platformer on PlayStation 5. You’ll be working on completing 50 levels as you work alongside Theo, your two-dimensional kitten. As you shift perspectives, you’ll be able to move Theo around the screen and even jump on top of it, so that you can reach the crystal at the other side of the screen that will take you to the next stage. You could place Theo as a platform that you can jump on top of to clear a large chasm, or move it around to form a short staircase to reach new heights.

You’ll be taking control of your character by using the left analog stick or the D-Pad, jumping by pressing the X button. This will allow you to activate switches and reach higher platforms as you try to reach the crystal that will transport you to the next level. You can press the Square button to take control of Theo. Theo can work as a platform you can step on, as well as activate switches that can make blocks appear or disappear. You can pull objects by pressing the Circle button. This will allow you to, for instance, place a box on top of a switch to make platforms appear.

This game features a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy waiting for you. And since it’s a Cross-Buy title, you’ll be able to download both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game, and each one will have a Platinum trophy for your collection. Each of the lists will be split into 5 Silver trophies and 10 Gold trophies for you to work on. What will you need to do to get them? There’s not much to worry about, since trophies will pop as you complete levels 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 30, 34, 38, 42, 46, and 50.

1 CatLine PS5 Review - 4

It’s a simple premise for the game, but it doesn’t manage to stick the landing. The gameplay loop is tedious, most of the time forcing you to move Theo one square at a time while riding on top, with one false move sending you to your doom. 1 CatLine is available as a Cross-Buy title, so your $4.99 price tag will allow you to download both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game, and each one will have its own trophy list with a Platinum trophy.
