Plantera 2: Golden Acorn from Ratalaika Games and VaragtP brings us a familiar but expanded clicker-style experience on Nintendo Switch. You’ll once again be working on building a garden that you can call your own as you earn coins to improve and expand it as needed. This is all needed in order to make the magical oak tree grow, so that you can use its golden acorns to take your garden from a small vegetable patch to a huge sanctuary where flora and fauna can thrive in harmony.

The controls are simple and to the point, since you’ll be using the left analog stick to move the cursor around the screen as you press the Y button to click away as needed. You can use the right analog stick to control the camera. Once you have enough coins, you can open the shop menu at the bottom of the screen, so that you can begin to spend them to add new items to your garden.
Every action that you perform will reward you with experience points and gold coins. You’ll need the experience points to level up. When this happens, you’ll expand the repertoire of plants and animals that you can bring into play, so that you can earn even more experience points and more gold coins, since those are needed to purchase the extra plants and animals that you’ll be adding to your project.

While you could do everything on your own, you should definitely hire as many Mellows as possible. These are the fluffy-looking and almost round creatures you can see in the screens and the trailer in this Plantera 2: Golden Acorn review. The more Mellows you have, the more automation you’ll be able to enjoy for the different processes at hand. Boosting how many coins you get is also a good option.
This release features a list of in-game achievements for you to work on as you try to 100% the game. Some of the objectives to complete include catching 10 fish, having bees produce 10 jars of honey, feeding a bunny, having at least one of each plant, bush, and tree, obtaining at least one of each decoration, obtaining at least 10 Golden Acorns, reaching Oak Tree level 10, buying 5 garden expansions, reaching level 50, and gathering 10,000 coins, to name some examples.
