Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok from Cygames brings us an expanded and revamped action RPG on PlayStation 5. After a mysterious event begins to mutate monsters, evil entities known as Ragnalia start to wreak havoc. It’s now up to you to find a way to put a stop to their invasion before it’s too late. Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok takes the original story from Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and it adds a good chunk of extra content that expands the adventure with new story elements, new quests, additional characters, new bosses, and even a new game mode known as the Conflux, which serves as a good post-game test of the character builds and skills of your party members.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok Review - 1

I previously got to work on a Granblue Fantasy Versus review on PlayStation 4, and had a lot of fun with its fighting game take on the Granblue Fantasy world. This was followed by a review of its sequel, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, on PlayStation 5 in 2023, so I was definitely up for checking out Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok on PlayStation 5.

If you want to learn more about Granblue Fantasy: Relink, then you can check out Ceid’z PlayStation 5 review from 2024. As for Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok. It takes the original experience from Granblue Fantasy: Relink and adds the Endless Ragnarok content on top, adding new story segments, new characters, new quests, as well as The Conflux, which will unlock as you progress through the game. Once you clear The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage quest, you’ll unlock Chaos quests. Once you start the Endless Ragnarok story, you’ll be introduced to Summons, a new battle gameplay mechanic. This will allow Lyria to challenge entities that you can then temporarily control… or they will jump into action with a special flair along with a Primal Burst chain attack.

The Conflux is a new solo game mode that will unlock after completing a new sidequest in the Seedhollow during chapter 6 of the main Granblue Fantasy: Relink story. This will unlock the first Cycle for the Conflux, with battles in each of the different Cycles that you unlock rewarding you with upgrade materials to aid you.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok PS5 Review - 2

You can take on this adventure by choosing one of three difficulty settings: Story, Action, or Hard. As its name suggests, the Story difficulty setting is a good option for those of you who want to focus on the game’s story without having to worry too much about the combat. The Action difficulty setting offers the standard experience, balanced to test your skills without feeling overwhelming. As for the Hard difficulty setting, it’s best reserved for experienced gamers who love action RPGs.

There’s also one extra difficulty setting that unlocks after you complete Chapter Ø: Ultimate! And yes, as you’ve probably guessed by now, there is indeed a trophy for completing all chapters while playing in the Ultimate difficulty setting – more on trophies in a bit. You can also activate Assist Mode or Full Assist Mode if needed. These will allow you to either mash the Square button to succeed or simply move around with the left analog stick as combat is handled for you, respectively.
