Sizeable from Alchemy Games and Business Goose Studio is a chill and cozy puzzle game on Nintendo Switch. Your task is simple and to the point: you’ll need to shrink and grow a variety of elements as you make your way through each diorama while searching for hidden objects. There are 39 hand-crafted low-poly dioramas for you to take on, as you make the most of your very special ability.

Sizeable Review - 1

This one was originally envisioned as a student project, and it ended up growing into what’s essentially the first full release from Business Goose Studio. Sizeable features soothing music composed by Jamal Green, which complements the overall experience as you journey through 4 seasonal dioramas. Experimentation is going to be key, and you’ll be encouraged to lower and increase the size of all elements in each diorama as you learn some new options for interactions.

As mentioned before, you have the very special power of being able to resize everything around you. Doing this can, in turn, have an effect on other elements in each diorama. What if you could change the size of the moon? Well… it turns out that you can! Shrink the moon’s size, and this will lower the tide. Or maybe you will want to increase the size of a cloud to create strong gusts of wind. This is how you’ll be able to locate the three hidden objects in each diorama.

Sizeable Switch Review - 2

The first level in the game will teach you everything you need to know about how to play the game. You’ll be using the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con to move a cursor around the screen as you tap away at elements by pressing the A button. Once you’ve selected an object, press the L and R buttons to resize it as needed. You can rotate each diorama with great ease by using the right analog stick or by pressing the ZL or ZR buttons. If you think you’ve made a mistake, you’ll be able to reset the level by pressing the – button.

What types of puzzles will you need to work on solving? Without spoiling things too much, allow me to discuss the first level in the game to give you a better picture of what to expect. You’ll see a generator on top of a large rock, with a red cable dangling from it. There’s also a red cable on one side of the large rock. The only way to connect them is to make the generator grow. Once you do this, you’ll notice there are two slots on top of the generator with an electricity icon.

Since there are two batteries nearby, you can certainly grab and place them on top of the icons, but they’re the wrong size. But worry not, since you can then change their sizes and complete the first level… once you spot a column on the corner for which you need to increase its size so that it shines, and then grab the column that is revealed after powering the generator, increase its size, and place it in the available spot. Oh, and don’t forget to click on the secret turtle that is also revealed!

Sizeable Switch Review - 4

Along with locating the three specific hidden objects in each level, you can also try to 100% the game by searching for each of the 39 secret hidden turtles! Can you manage to find them all? Sizeable is out on Nintendo Switch with a $6.99 price tag.
