Shoe it All! from Amberbite and Amber Bright is a quirky, physics-based puzzle experience on Nintendo Switch. You’ll be placed in the role of Lace, a rebellious teenager who refuses to fit into a world of rules, order, and boring authority. You’ll be using the mighty power of a swing and a pile of shoes to swing away and kick off your shoes to hit a variety of targets, as you time things just right. You will be able to experiment and find different solutions for each of the puzzles, as you locate some secrets here and there along the way.

The game features 65+ levels to take on, as you try to collect the 200+ stickers for your journal, with multiple potential solutions for the scenarios they present. And once you’ve completed 17 out of the levels on offer – with level 17 being the first boss battle in the game – you’ll unlock Challenge Mode. As the name suggests, Challenge Mode will test your skills by throwing you into, for instance, the Hermes Run, requiring you to complete the first set of levels as quickly as possible.

 

Given the game’s premise, the controls for this one are going to be simple and to the point. You’ll use the left analog stick or the D-Pad to move Lace left and right as he gains extra speed and momentum thanks to the swing. Once you feel that you have enough speed and have reached the proper height, press the A button to launch a shoe from your pile so that it hopefully hits its target. If you feel that you’ve made too many mistakes, you can press the B button to reset the level.

If you want to 100% the game, then you’ll need to complete a series of objectives for each level that you take on, so that you can be rewarded with the max amount of stickers for each stage. These will always include completing the level, as well as doing so by only using, say, 4 shoes or less, or even by using only a single shoe. Some levels will have secret objectives for you to complete, which adds to the replay value.

New elements will be introduced later in the game, changing how you approach subsequent puzzles, which helps to keep the whole experience feeling fresh. Along with the 65+ levels that you’ll have to complete to gain the 200+ stickers for your journal, there’s also going to be a Challenge Mode to test your skills in which you’ll rush toward the finish line as quickly as possible. Shoe it All! is out on Nintendo Switch with a $7.99 price tag.
