[Girlfriend Review] BioShock: Infinite + BioShock

BioShock

The animation of BioShock was beautiful. Compared to some of the other games I’ve seen, it is almost movie quality. If it was, in fact, a movie instead of a video game, it would be Pixar’s first R rated film.

In the first BioShock, I felt the claustrophobic nature of Rapture. Yeah, it’s a big city, but it’s still underwater. One of the windows breaks and it’s “sayonara in two micro-seconds“.

Games You Should Look Forward To In 2012

January 3, 2012 | | 7 Comments

Bye Bye 2011, you were truly amazing in terms of first party exclusives and surprisingly good titles. It was a non-stop party ’til the very end. I’ve battled the Helghast on planet Helghan, jumped off a plane in Rub’ al Khali, journeyed through the Mississippi river to New York City looking for a way to save humanity, undergone augmentation to survive a vicious attack, base jumped off a cliff in Damavand Peak and climbed 600 stairs to the top of a mountain called the Throat of the World, searching for my destiny. I salute you 2011, but times have come for a new year and new games to look forward to.

Bioshock Infinite Demo Footage

July 8, 2011 | | 8 Comments

The seventeen minute demo of Bioshock Infinite that debuted behind closed doors at E3 is at last available for public consumption. The game looks absolutely amazing, featuring game play that relies not only on the ingenious guns + magic powers formula from the previous Bioshock titles, but also vertiginous navigation around the floating city of Columbia using roller coaster-like rails.

Another exciting new feature is the sidekick’s ability to interact with “tears” in space-time, such that she can create objects seemingly from thin air and manipulate the world in other ways, transforming the cityscape into a city of another era. At any rate, the tech is remarkable, and it appears that the demo is being played on an XBox 360. Hence the game should look beautiful on our beloved console as well. (I appreciate that the demo doesn’t use the PC version, which will, presumably, look much nicer than the versions on current-gen consoles.)

Check out the footage after the jump.
