Thanks to the wonderful folks at PS3Blog.net in association with Insomniac Games, I won beta access to Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, which is slated for public release on October 18, 2011. The conceit of this title is that it is a cooperative multiplayer-driven experience, unlike the previous R&C titles. Want to learn more about how this plays out? More after the jump!
Post apocalyptic America, Alien invasion, viruses, slim chances for survival and one tough son of a bitch! Resistance 3 picks up with former Army soldier Joseph Capelli who was dishonorably discharged due to an unfortunate event with former Resistance protagonist Nathan Hale, that I dare not spoil.
After Joseph was discharged from the Army, he gave up fighting the Chimera and started a family of his own in a small underground outpost that housed a few of the surviving humans left on Earth. In the years that Joseph decided to give up fighting and lived as a family man the only way a hunted species could, he was later visited by a Russian scientist known as Fyodor Malikov.
According to PlayStation Blog, Owners of SOCOM 4 “specially marked Packages” will be able to redeem their codes and get early access to the Beta on Thursday, August 4th. Followed by PlayStation Plus subscribers in the UK and Europe reign whom will get access on August 10th. As for U.S Plus subscribers they will have to wait until August 23rd to access the beta. The Resistance 3 Beta will include two of the game’s major maps, the Seaside of Glamorgan in Wales and a Train yard in Bogota Colombia. More details ahead:

As far as hardware and accessories goes, one of last night’s announcements at Sony’s press conference was for the Doomsday Edition of Resistance 3. This will be a good way for players to pick up the title along with a Move, as it includes a PlayStation Eye camera, Move controller, the navigation controller, and, of course, the Sharpshooter Move attachment. You can expect the game, as well as the bundle (at $150), to hit stores on or around September 6th (the North American release date).

The award winning developers of the hit series Ratchet & Clank are back for another adventure, this time you and 3 of your friend’s can come along. The game features a new coop mode with an exciting array of weapons. Insomiac games, the developer of the series promised a new perspective when it comes to playing coop multiplayer, as in the past, coop games relied heavily on the other players to be on the same screen in order to keep the game fluid. This game however offers up a unique answer to the dilemma.
