[Review] Elevator Action Deluxe
October 1, 2011 | pedrolabate | 5 CommentsElevator Action Deluxe is one of those games you don’t really know what to expect at first, but can be quite fun if you let it. I should let you know, this isn’t really my kind of game and maybe I didn’t follow my own advice when I played trough it, so I’ll try to make things simple and talk about the good and the bad things about it. Firstly, this is a modern day version of an arcade game, and the original is fully contained in this downloadable title, so, in case you’re feeling nostalgic, or just want to check it out of curiosity, this is a nice addition.
The mechanics of the game are quite simple. You’re placed on a building with a bunch of doors and elevators with the objective of collecting some “classified documents” and progressing trough the exit. Of course, it’s much easier said than done. There are a bunch of enemies around with the sole purpose of making your life difficult. Levels get pretty crazy fast enough, and before you know it, there’ll be more doors than you ever expected to see in your life. This is where one of those weird design decisions take place; even though you can zoom out any time with the click of a button, it’s impossible to leave it zoomed out. It gets particularly annoying when you’re playing on a huge level with a lot happening and have to figure out a way to get from a point to another.
